OVERVIEW

Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca, one of the holiest cities in Islam, and holds great significance in the lives of Muslims. Unlike Hajj, which has specific dates and rituals, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year, making it a flexible and voluntary pilgrimage. Here are key points about Umrah:

  1. Spiritual Journey: Umrah is considered a spiritual journey and an opportunity for Muslims to seek forgiveness, purification, and blessings from Allah.

  2. Five Pillars of Islam: While not one of the Five Pillars of Islam like Hajj, Umrah is highly recommended and holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims.

  3. Ihram: Pilgrims entering the state of consecration, known as Ihram, wear simple white garments to symbolize equality and humility before Allah. This state involves specific rules and restrictions.

  4. Tawaf: A fundamental ritual of Umrah involves circumambulating the Kaaba, the sacred building at the center of the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Pilgrims perform Tawaf, walking around the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction.
